Introducing Amber’s new 20-Year SecureFloor Warranty

Here at Amber, we recently launched our brand new 20-Year SecureFloor Warranty!

Our SecureFloor Warranty is market leading, going beyond traditional warranties to cover our core electric underfloor heating products, including mats and cables – and the flooring too!

In this article, we’re exploring everything you need to know about our 20-Year SecureFloor Warranty, including what it covers and the products it applies to.

What is Amber’s 20-Year SecureFloor Warranty?

Our 20-Year SecureFloor Warranty covers not only the replacement of the product in the unlikely event of manufacturing fault, but the replacement of the floor covering too – for 20 years!

Other warranties on the market don’t consider the flooring. However, if a product fault needs repairing or replacing, the floor must be disturbed or removed, which can come at a significant cost to customers.

Our warranty was designed to give both Amber product users, and the tradespeople installing them, reassurance that they are fully protected when using our products. Plus, it shows that we have absolute faith in the quality and longevity of our products!

We always strive to deliver the very best for our customers, and this warranty is simply the latest step we have taken to demonstrate this.

Which products does the SecureFloor Warranty apply to?

The 20-Year SecureFloor Warranty covers our range of electric underfloor heating mats and cables, including:

What are the benefits of our 20-Year SecureFloor Warranty?

Faulty underfloor heating not only means a colder room, but it usually requires the removal of the flooring to reveal the product beneath for investigation.

As most flooring surfaces are only intended to be installed once, removing them can result in unavoidable and irreparable damage.

Once the underfloor heating product is repaired or replaced, the flooring may need to be replaced too, causing significant inconvenience.

With our warranty, the product and the potential high cost of flooring is covered, giving complete peace of mind.

What is electric underfloor heating used for?

Electric underfloor heating is installed beneath the floor, producing radiant heat which warms a room from the ground up.

It typically comes in two forms:

Electric underfloor heating mats consist of heating wires attached to a thin, flexible mesh mat which are placed on the subfloor and covered with the flooring of choice. They are ideal for larger, square-shaped rooms and the mat can easily be unrolled during installation.

Heating cables are individual cables which can be installed loose-lay with tape or embedded within a decoupling membrane, the latter of which is the preferred option for many installers. When using a decoupling membrane, the cables can be clicked into the spacings of the membrane for easy installation and optimum cable spacing.

Electric heating mats and heating cables, paired with a decoupling membrane, are both becoming an increasingly popular choice for new-build developments and retrofit projects – especially as tradespeople and developers, M&E contractors, specifiers and architects alike look for energy efficient and future-proof heating solutions for their projects.

What are the benefits of using electric underfloor heating?

Comfortable living environment

Electric underfloor heating is known for delivering a consistent, even heat to create a warm, comfortable living space.

As it produces radiant heat, it heats a whole room from the ground up, meaning the floor is warm underfoot and both draughts and cold spots are reduced.

And, as it’s installed beneath the floor, it doesn’t occupy valuable living space, allowing more design freedom and flexibility, which is especially important in smaller spaces!

Energy efficiency

One of the biggest advantages of electric underfloor heating is its energy efficiency.

Compared to traditional heating methods, like boiler-fed radiator systems, electric underfloor heating can be 30% more efficient.

Unlike radiators, they heat up quickly and run at a lower temperature, in turn reducing overall energy consumption. And, as they don’t produce cold spots, all of the energy consumed is used in a room.

Improved air quality

Unlike radiator systems, electric underfloor heating can have a positive impact on air quality.

As it doesn’t circulate air as typical radiators do, it reduces the movement of dust and other allergens, creating a more comfortable environment for those with allergies or respiratory conditions.

Easy to install

Both electric underfloor heating cables and mats are easy and quick to install.

Each system only requires connection to an electric supply for power, making the process simple.

Heating mats can essentially be unrolled during installation, while cables – when paired with a decoupling membrane – can be simply slotted into the spaces of the membrane.

Fewer safety risks

A key benefit for homes with young children, electric underfloor heating is notably safer than traditional radiator systems.

As it’s hidden beneath the floor, the heat reaches the floor at a comfortable temperature, reducing the risk of burns which come with exposed radiators.

Plus, with no sharp edges, underfloor heating facilitates an obstacle free heated environment for babies and young children, allowing them to move freely without risk of injury.

Maintenance free

Once installed, electric underfloor heating requires zero maintenance!

With no moving parts – and no need for complex water pumps or boilers – they need no upkeep, making them a fuss-free choice for new-build and retrofit projects.
